If the Brewers are going to stay in contention this season, they need all they can get from Ben Sheets.

Sheets is this team’s ace, yet he’s been prone to finding himself on the disabled list the last couple years, and that’s not gonna work in Milwaukee this year.

He proved why he’s the heart and soul of his team Sunday, throwing a five-hit shutout as the Brew Crew blanked the Giants 7-0. Sheets had eight strikeouts and didn’t walk anybody in the win.

It was Sheets’ first win of the season and improved Milwaukee’s record to an impressive 5-1 on the year after sweeping San Francisco in three straight.

If he can get 30 starts this year, this is going to be a tough team to beat in the N.L. Central.
