Brandon Webb

I’ve given Brandon Webb so many helpings of MAD LOVE this year, that seeing him on the other side of the page makes me wonder what’s going wrong.
Well, it’s not me, Brandon. It’s you.
Sorry to say it, but as the fellas down at the park say, I’m just keepin’ it real.
Webb got rocked for four runs in the first inning of his outing at home against the division rival Dodgers on Sunday. Three of them coming at the hands of Casey Blake, who hit a 435-foot bomb to dead center field.
He wasn’t done there.
The majors’ most winning pitcher gave up another run in the third and three more in the fourth, enduring his worst outing of the year by far.
And all this to a Dodger team that had just ended an eight-game losing streak the day before and had fallen 4.5 games behind the D-Backs in the N.L. West.
Yeah, it troubles me to do it, because I know he’s one of the best pitchers in baseball, and probably the leading candidate to win his second Cy Young Award - but it’s time to finally hand out some TOUGH LOVE to Mr. Webb today.
