Braves/Marlins

I had to check twice to see this wasn’t a Father/Son game or the yearly family softball picnic.
After being assured it was an actual game between the Braves and Marlins on Tuesday, I still had a tough time believing it.
But I can tell you one thing ... I loved every minute of it.
Let’s go through all the exciting action of this one, shall we?!
The visiting Braves immediaetly went up 1-0 in the top of the first, but it didn’t take long for them to lose their lead, giving up three in the bottom of the inning.
Following the 3-1 deficit, they went on a tear, scoring nine straight to take the 10-3 lead.
Insurmountable, right? Uhh, think again.
What was once a 10-3 cushion turned into a 13-10 deficit just two innings later! Yes, I said two innings.
Like a cornered rodent, the Braves fought back with four more runs to take the lead again, 14-13. After the Marlins tied the score in the bottom of the eighth, Atlanta pinch hitter Ruben Gotay doubled in the game-winning run, giving the Braves the win, 16-14.
It was a game that featured 15 pitchers, nine of whom gave up at least one run. Seven of them gave up runs in just an inning or less of work! In fact, five of the runs were coughed up by pitchers who failed to even record a single out!
Fifteen players drove in at least one run, three had four hits, two had four or more RBI and only two of the original players in the starting lineup failed to get a hit: Hanley Ramirez and Jorge Cantu, arguably the two best players on the Marlins this season.
Damn, do I love baseball, or what?!. You all get some MAD LOVE from me today!
