Clemson’s Run Game

Going into this season, many of the experts believed Clemson’s 1-2 punch in the backfield was the best one in the entire country.
C.J. Spiller and James Davis are two of the most dynamic backs in the nation, much less the ACC.
However, they’ve been far from dominant this year. Sure. they had combined for 10 rushing TDs coming into Thursday night’s game, but it hasn’t been nearly as impressive as it was supposed to be.
Neither one of them even had 400 yards on the ground through five games, and then Wake Forest happened.
The Demon Deacons held them to a combined 35 yards on 14 carries while pulling out a 12-7 victory, improving Wake to 4-1 on the season and dropping the Tigers to a disappointing 3-3.
Yeah, some of the problems can be attributed to the injuries on the offensive line, but these two guys are too good to be running so poorly this season.
I hate to do it, because I really like Clemson and their fans, but I’m gonna have to dish out a little TOUGH LOVE to that entire running game tonight.
