David Price

What can you say about the kid, other than “wow!?”

The former No. 1 pick in the MLB Draft didn’t even get his first-ever major league win until the divisional round of the playoffs over the White Sox.

However, manager Joe Maddon found the stones to summon Price in the game in the eighth game with the bases loaded, and the young lefty delivered.

Price struck out J.D. Drew on a fastball low and away to end the Red Sox threat and get the Rays into the ninth with that same 3-1 lead on the scoreboard.

Maddon then kept him in the game in the ninth, where he closed Boston out, getting the save in the most pressure situation he’s assuredly ever faced.

This kid could likely be in the starting rotation as soon as next year, when he was just throwing in Single-A at one point in ‘08.

And for his performance in Game 7, we can do nothing but give this prodigy some serious MAD LOVE!!
