Derrick Rose

It’s a tale of two rookies today, as we praise one and give a little Tough Love to one as well.
Today’s MAD LOVE goes to the No. 1 overall draft pick of THIS year’s draft, Derrick Rose of the Bulls.
The first-year point guard already won the starting job out of training camp, taking over for former USA National Teamer Kirk Hinrich.
And in his first start, Rose had a pretty darn solid outing. It started with a beautiful 360 jump stop through the paint that ended in a wide open layup.
The rest of the night was full of pretty passes, big rebounds and floor leadership the Bulls haven’t seen in many years. It led to an impressive win over a rebuilding Bucks team, by the score of 108-95.
Rose ended the night with 11 points, nine assists, four rebounds and three steals. It already looks as if he’ll be amongst the league leaders in both assists and steals, which is exactly what this team was looking for when drafting him before Michael Beasley a few months ago.
For his solid debut, we’re giving Rose some serious MAD LOVE today. We see many more of these coming throughout the year!
