Derrick Rose

The next great American point guard is already on our doorstep.

As if the Chris Paul - Deron Williams duo didn’t already give you hope for the future of the 1-spot, now you have new reason to believe.

Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you again ... for the first time: Derrick Rose.

Rose had 18 points and six assists - many of each coming on sportscenter-caliber plays - to lead the Bulls to a 100-83 victory over the Suns, in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score indicated.

Rose hit a monster dunk over Leandro Barbosa (which is sort of like saying you outran an infant) that brought the United Center crowd out of their seats.

It’s easy for people to overstate someone’s potential value after such a small sample size, as we all know with great players it’s not about how great you are, but how long you last that determines how high you go.

With the way Rose is lighting up the scoreboard and the fans’ faces these days, it’s hard to not hope we can see more of him for a long, long time.

MAD LOVE to Derrick Rose for putting on a heckuva show last night!
