Edgar Renteria

For an eighth hitter, I suppose the day Edgar Renteria wasn’t all bad.
Renteria, one of Detroit’s many prized offseason acquisitions, easily had his best day as a Tiger.
The team’s new shortstop went 4-for-4, scored twice and had five RBI in their 12-8 win over the Mariners.
In fact, he was just a double short of the cycle, hitting his fourth home run of the year and his first triple in a Tiger uniform.
The perfect day raised his average 18 points and increased his RBI by about 30 percent for the year.
He hasn’t had the best start to the season, but this is the kind of day that could lift him out of the season-long slumber and jump start the last-place Tigers into a winning streak.
All it takes is one guy to lead a team, and that’s why we’re giving some MAD LOVE to Edgar Renteria today!
