Joe Calzaghe

What can anybody say about Joe Calzaghe?

The man’s held his title for more than a decade. He’s 46-0 in his career. He’s beaten two of the world’s all-time greats in this calendar year alone.

He could very well be the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world today.

And yet he could be retired now as well.

Yeah, that would be be a crime to the sport, but you can’t argue with Calzaghe if he decides to go that route. After beating both Bernard Hopkins and now Roy Jones, Jr. in less than a year, it’s quite obvious Calzaghe has nobody left to beat.

In the light heavyweight division, there’s no one left. And he can’t make the move to cruiserweight. And even if he did, who would he be fighting at that weight anyhow? do you know anybody who fights at that weiht class? Because if you do, you know one more person in it than I do.

And heavyweight, where the real money is, is obviously out of the question.

So, you bail. You’ve done your thing. There are no rematches with those two guys. It’s over.

And, apparently, that’s exactly what it might be for Calzaghe, who claims he won’t fight again.

And for that, and for his impressive unanimous decision over Jones on Saturday night, we have to give a career-long edition of MAD LOVE to Joe Calzaghe today!
