John Calipari

Listen, John. I know you were playing UT-Arlington.

However, I made it a point to watch your first round tussle, and I can’t say I was impressed.

Memphis let the Mavericks hang around for a little too long in that game due to sloppy play on both ends of the floor.

The Tigers were beat to loose balls, they committed some cheap fouls, and took several defensive possessions off.

The Mavericks pulled to within nine in the second half and didn’t go away easily. Calipari was seen screaming at his star, Derrick Rose, on the sidelines during timeouts.

If Memphis wanted to make a statement and prove that they are for real this year, they didn’t do it.

I’ve always liked Calipari, but you need to get your team to play hard for 40 minutes to hang with the big boys and make that run to the Final Four. Maybe they’ll play harder against Mississippi State but for now, we dish out some South Region TOUGH LOVE.

Mississippi State is no breeze. Look for an upset on Sunday.

Uhh, that’s what he was trying to do. Thus his irritable nature. I think coach Cal would agree with your criticism of his team. A coach can only do so much; the players have to execute. See: UCONN.
