Jordan Farmar and Sasha Vujacic

About 99% of the time, I love Jordan Farmar and Susha Vujacic.

Heck, I’m not even a Lakers fan, but these two guys just do it for me.

As a basketball fan in general, I respect what they immensely.

Farmar is the ultimate hard working hustle guy. I didn’t think he’d ever become a solid NBA point guard when he came out early from UCLA two years ago, but he has. He makes big shots, he makes the extra pass and he fits in with what the Lakers need him to do.

Vujacic I like even more. Even more so than Farmar, I had no confidence in his chances of making it in this league. However, he’s stuck around with stingy enough defense coming off the bench and the ability to go on shooting rampages enough to surely warrant some big money offers from other teams this offseason when he becomes a free agent.

Unfortunately, as much repsect as I have for these two guys, they stunk the joint up Friday night.

The two indespensible second-teamers for Los Angeles shot a combined 0-for-9 last night, including 0-for-5 from three point range.

The actually had just as many turnovers (three) as points, rebounds and assists - combined!!

That’s not the way they can play if the Lakers are to remain favorites to come out of the Western Conference.

I know this is Kobe’s team, and guys like Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom have far more pull on whether L.A. will win this thing or not, but the team’s bench has been as good as any in basketball this season, and they can’t afford nights like this out of them.

So, for dropping a stinker on us in Utah, I have no choice but to drop some Tough Love on Jordan Farmar and Sasha Vujacic today.
