Kevin Weekes

Martin Brodeur can’t come back soon enough for the Devils.

Admittedly, we’ve never thought Kevin Weekes was a bad goaltender, per se, but he sure looked like he could use a cup of coffee last night.

Weekes was absolutely overwhelmed in the second period as the New York Rangers scored four times in eight minutes to blow open a game that ended in the Blueshirts’ victory.

Many of the goals looked as though they could have been easily stopped, with Weekes looking slow and lazy on nearly every scoring attempt. He blocked just 21 of 25 shots.

TOUGH LOVE to Brodeur’s backup today for playing an extremely shoddy second period.
