Lakers

Never thought I’d see this happen. Not to the Lakers.

The league’s best team ended the third quarter on a solid 17-0 run to take a 15-point into the fourth quarter.

For a 14-1 team, that should be a walk in the park. Especially a 14-1 team with Kobe Bryant on it.

Uhhh, not quite.

The Pacers put together a remarkable comeback in the fourth quarter, capped off by a last-second tip-in by Troy Murphy to take the Lakers down by one point, 118-117.

After scoring 30 or more points in each of the three previous quarters, the Lakers could only manage 16 in the fourth, being outscored 32-16.

Indiana isn’t a bad team, and they’re improving, but they’re still only 7-10. They shouldn’t be taking down the team on the fast track to the NBA Finals.

This is going to go down as one of the worst losses of the year for the Lakers, and that’s why we’re giving them some Tough Love today.
