Mavs

They were already struggling to get wins this season. Then Tuesday night happened.

First off, Josh Howard was sidelined with an injury. That never helps.

But the bigger obstacle was the fact it was the Lakers coming into town. The Lake Show’s undefeated this year.

This was gonna be big.

Then the Mavs go up early. In fact, they’re up by nine points at the end of the first quarter, by six at halftime and by three going into the fourth quarter.

But it wasn’t meant to be. Dallas stumbled in the fourth stanza ... again, getting outscored by 10 and losing 106-99.

Their record now?

An ugly 2-5 and stuck in last in the Midwest Division. Not a place the Mavericks and Mark Cuban are used to being.

They’ve been here before, mind you, going winless in their first five games just a couple years ago. They went on to win the division.

I hope that can happen this time around, since the league’s a better place with Dallas as a solid team.

But until they turn the tide, they’re getting some TOUGH LOVE from us today.
