Michigan

The boys of the Big House find themselves in our dog house after dropping their non-conference season opener for the second year in a row.

We all remember the colossal upset last September when Appalachian State stunned the maze and blue and left them reeling for the entire ’07 campaign.

Well unhappy days are here again. This time it was the Utah Utes who rolled into the Big House in Ann Arbor and welcomed the Wolverines to another disappointing season with a 25-23 defeat.

Now the Utes are nowhere near the underdog that App State was; in fact, they’re the sexy pick as the top non-major to shake up the BCS this year. But if you’re Michigan, the winningest college football team in history, you’ve got to defend your turf - especially after what happened last year.

Not only should the previous defeat have been a rude awakening, but Michigan went so far as to oust famed coach Lloyd Carr after 12 seasons and a 122-40 record.

After all that – a lost season, a near-identical catastrophe and a huge coaching shakeup – Michigan and their freshman coach, Rich Rodriguez, absolutely could not afford to lose this opener.

You only get one chance to make a first impression, but Michigan has managed to blow it twice! That definitely deserves some serious TOUGH LOVE!

Hey, at least last year’s loss to App State was close! This program is in shambles.

For real! The 25-23 final does not at all reveal how weak Michigan looked out there.

You can always tell by watching a college football game who the truly legitimate teams are. Michigan is not that right now. What a fall.

P.S. Go Gophers!

It will take a few years for RichRod to get his guys in there....I think its safe to say that Threet took over the qb spot in the fourth quarter going forward
