Twins

Poor Twins.
They went into this latest three-game series with the Blue Jays within a half-game of the White Sox in the A.L. Central and just two behind the Red Sox in the wild card race.
Three days later, all of that is a distant memory.
Minnesota got swept by the Jays in ugly fashion Thursday night, getting shutout by Jesse Litsch and falling 9-0.
They’ve now fallen a game and a half back in the Central and, thanks the Boston’s three-game sweep of the Orioles, they’re now five behind in the wild card, which may be out of their reach now that there’s only 22 games left in the season.
They couldn’t have picked a worse time to get cold, as the big teams have been stepping up their game lately. And not even recent savior Kevin Slowey could save them in this one.
Slowey didn’t even pitch all that poorly, but Litsch was too much on this night.
The Twins will now have to face off with the powerful Tigers lineup in order to get back in the race. Every game is going to be important at this point.
Heck, they already have been, and they’ve been coming up short.
And that’s why we’re giving some TOUGH LOVE to the Twinkies today.
