Nebraska

Fellas, the game’s started. You here? You alive?

In what used to be one of the greatest rivalries in sports, Saturday’s Oklahoma/Nebraska game was a joke right from the get go.

The Sooners returned the openng kickoff for a touchdown.

Then they capitalized on a turnover and scored again, just two and a half minutes into the game.

Another turnover gave them the ball again, and again Oklahoma turned it into a quick touchdown.

Wait, what’s this? Yet another turnover? Yeah, you got it.

Touchdown number four came only 64 seconds after touchdown number three, and the score was now 28-0.

Folks, only five minutes and 33 seconds had gone off the clock at this point. Yet, it was 28-0. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an ugly beginning to a game - on any level.

In the end, the Sooners put up 35 points in the first quarter on their way to an embarrassing 62-28 throttling of the Huskers in one of the worst beatings in the history of this long rivalry.

There’s no excuse for that kind of poor play from such a storied football school, which is why Nebraska is getting some serious Tough Love from us today.
