I should’ve been the vaunted number 756,
Yet, I’ve been branded with an asterisk.
I should’ve been a treasured piece of MLB history,
Yet some fashion designer thought it’d be cool to brand me.
I should’ve been the topic of baseball lore,
Yet people see me as a joke and nothing more.
I should’ve been the ball you showed your grandchildren,
Yet it’s unlikely that that’ll ever happen.
For I’m the record-breaking ball that no one gives credit to,
And giving me a bit of TOUGH LOVE is the least you can do!

It is a tragedy of baseball that this ball has been marked by a jackass with a checkbook. While we are at let’s but an asterisk next to the Yankees 1966 title because they got some help from a 12 year old in the ALCS.
Absolutely shameful.
