Paul Azinger

I wanna say this right off the bat ... I have noting but love for Paul Azinger.
Always have.
And it’s never an easy thing to be the coach of the U.S. Ryder Cup team. I mean, they haven’t exactly been tearing it up against the Europeans lately. And you have a lot of tough decisions to make.
So, you’d think my man Zing would get one of the most popular and respected players in the game today - Rocco Mediate - on his team, wouldn’t ya?
But that wasn’t the case.
Azinger left Rocco off the team, to the surprise of many, in favor of three Ryder Cup rookies.
J.B. Holmes, Hunter Mahan and Chad Campbell are no slouches, but none of them have anywhere near the name recognition and national appeal Rocco does.
Mediate did enough to make this team. And it’s a shame he didn’t.
I don’t like to do it, but I have to shell out some TOUGH LOVE to Paul Azinger today for that oversight.
