Redskins

I don’t care what time of year it is. Getting pounded 47-3 is NOT gonna get it done.
That’s what happened to the Skins on Saturday, as the Carolina Panthers absolutely throttled ‘em, handing Washington their first loss in four preseason games.
This one was never close. The Panthers scored 31 points in the second quarter alone, thanks to a 50-yard touchdown run by Jonathan Stewart and a 60-yard score from DeAngelo Williams.
In fact, both runners went for over 100 yards on the day, as Washington’s first-team defense was no match for Carolina’s first-team offense.
Steve Smith also had a big game, scoring twice and goin for 60 yards receiving.
The big news was newly acquired Jason Taylor going down with a sprained right knee for the Redskins in the first quarter. It isn’t known how bad it is at this point, but it certainly didn’t look good when it happened, that’s for sure.
Anyhow, what was worse was the more than 400 yards they allowed on defense. That simply can’t happen - even in the preseason.
And because of that, they’ve officially earned some TOUGH LOVE from us today.
