Who's the best closer in baseball?

It’s Nathan, so long as you interpret the question as: Who’s CURRENTLY the best closer in baseball, which I think is implied. All time? I’d say Rivera. Even now, it’s almost a toss-up, but Joe Nathan is lights out 99.9% of the time and that tops even skull-face (a.k.a. Mariano Rivera).

I respect the guy, but c’mon… c’mon.

Rivera IS 25-for-25 this season! .... And K-Rod has 41 saves! .... And Lidge’s ERA is the best in baseball! .... So, Nathan?!? Really!?! I love him, but best in baseball?!?

They’re closers, man - overrated. And you will NOT convince me that K-Rod is legit. Rivera is in the pantheon of all-time greats, but Nathan is as lights-out as they come and his heat is overpowering. Granted, a splitter from Skeletor (a.k.a. RIvera) makes fools out of sluggers, but his stoic demeanor and constant spitting has nothing on Joe’s spastic twitching and cheek-puffing.
